Fubiao Ai, an agricultural engineer initially came to Egypt as part of an exchange program between the Chinese and Egyptian government to help improve irrigation methods in this region, has since been living with his family in Egypt for over ten years, working as a independent mushroom farmer.Despite China's one-child policy with his wife, and parents he raises his two children in the outskirts of Cairo, in a small complex off the Alexandria dessert road. Hiring seasonally two Egyptian workers, he cultivates indoor Chinese mushrooms which are sold in  markets in Cairo and thought Egypt.
