Journalism: Egypt Uprising: Portraits: Women March

Women photographed in the aftermath of the first Women's March at Dina's Hotel on March 9, 2011 in downtown Cairo, Egypt.  

On what was suppost to be the first women's march since the revolution turned out to be a failure. Convinced by their religious conviction and that - to them Egypt is a Muslim country - mobs of angry men arrived determined not let this event occur. 

Women in these photos were not only screamed at by groups of men who tried to intimidating the women by pulling their hair and in some cases physically and sexually assualting them. Still shacken up some women regrouped at a nearby hostel. I asked to photograph them and share their experiences.
